Aims
1.To raise the profile of the traditional
service of portrait painting.
2. To provide point of contact which will
be of benefit to those wishing to commission an original portrait.
3. The most important aim of the Society
- is to provide tuition opportunities for students of portraiture, under the guidance of The Society founding president Heather
Gail Harman. this will include workshops, portrait study holidays and courses, and personalised educational programmes.
4. To promote and maintain a high
degree of excellence in the art of Portrait Drawing and Painting, and to unite outstanding portraitists through membership
of the Society.
Membership
Full Signature Membership
. ; entitles the artist to sign their work PSAn (Portrait Society of Andalucia).
Signature Membership is decided by jury.
Signature Members pay an annual fee of 80
euros.
Any artist who wishes to be considered for membership
must submit:
1. Four images (either by post
or on-line) of recently completed portraits completed in any medium. If submitting images by post please include a stamped
self-addressed envelope.
All images should be of high photographic quality. Your submitted images should be original,
and not copied from photographs not taken by yourself or copied from other artists. Your images should not have been
completed in an art class situation or in the presence of an instructor/tutor.
2. A resume outlining your background/education in portraiture, and
any awards received.
3. A submission/jury fee of 50 euros. (The annual membership
fee of 80 euros is payable on receipt of notification of acceptance as a full signature member.)

Tuition and Fees
Monthly day classes in 'portrait drawing for beginners' and 'the sanguine
method' are planned in the Lake Vinuella area (Malaga Province) from May 2009.

Private portrait workshop sessions at Heather's home studio -
based on two hours tuition is 80 euros. Full tuition days are available by request.
Personal Development Review and Critique Service (portfolio
review) - 70 euros. This review includes both critique and advice for future development and working projects. An on-line
service is also available.
